First graduation ceremony for PPLE students

6 July 2017

The first crop of PPLE students will graduate today. In a festive ceremony on the evening of 6 July, the very first PPLE diplomas will be awarded to 50 graduates.

Edgar du Perron Prize for best thesis

During the ceremony, a prize will be awarded for the best thesis written by a PPLE student. Prof. Edgar Du Perron, Supreme Court judge, will award the prize (a certificate and 500 euros) himself. The students will initially select candidates for the prize themselves, who will present their research on the afternoon of 6 July, whereupon a jury will designate a winner.

Continuing to Master's programmes

It is still too early to tell exactly where PPLE alumni will continue their education. The soon-to-be graduates have applied for various programmes, including UvA programmes such as Public International Law, Public Policy and Governance, International Development Studies, Finance, and Accounting. One student has already been accepted to the London School of Economics and one student will continue her education at Queens’ College, University of Cambridge.
