The Amsterdam Law Trials is a mock trial competition between PPLE, the honours programmes from the VU and the UvA, and AUC.
On Friday 9 February, four student lawyer teams from PPLE and three student judges participated in the kick-off event at law firm De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek. The students met their professional coaches, who are Dutch lawyers and judges, and received the case that they must argue in court in April. The final rounds are open to the public and will take place on Friday, 8 June 2018 at the Singelkerk Amsterdam. The winning Judge and each member of the best lawyer team will win a total of €1.500 to be paid towards LL.M. tuition fees. The prizes are made available by Boom Juridische Uitgevers. The law firm may offer internships (or job opportunities) as well. More information about the Amsterdam Law Trials can be found on their new website www.amsterdamlawtrials.nl.
