The University of Amsterdam arranges the visa and residence permit application procedure for incoming students. When you are a citizen of a non-EU/EEA country, you need to complete the immigration procedure before the start of your studies at the University of Amsterdam. You will not be allowed to start otherwise.
The University of Amsterdam offers a limited number of rooms to international students. The applications are processed by the UvA’s International Housing Office, and not by PPLE College.
All students are required by law to have appropriate health insurance for the duration of your stay in the Netherlands. In addition, students are advised to take out an appropriate general third-party insurance (liability insurance). For non-EEA/EU students requesting a residence permit through the UvA, liability insurance is mandatory.
PPLE has its own wheelchair accessible, and distinctive building, where staff and students mix easily. The building offers study spaces with three study intensity levels (low-intensity, medium-intensity, high-intensity). It contains a central meeting place and tutorial rooms on every floor, next to offices and study spaces. Furthermore, PPLE has all-gender and wheelchair accessible toilets
If you have a disability, dyslexia or chronic illness, you might need special facilities and support during your studies. Find out here what kind of facilities and support the UvA offers.
