COVAID Africa as a global movement to support Africa's fight against corona
1 May 2020
The COVAID AFRICA team works passionately to mitigate further strain on the already-struggling healthcare services. The pandemic poses a greater danger to regions that do not have a robust healthcare infrastructure and hence poses a looming humanitarian challenge in African countries.
The organisation is growing rapidly and now counts 350+ ambassadors, based on all continents. Over 100 of these volunteers are PPLE students. The disciplined motivation, critical thinking and ideas instilled in many PPLE'ers in combination with their extensive international network contributed to the success of realising the idea.
Niklas wanted to combine the unprecedented global sense of togetherness with today’s technology and utilise the free time to set up a platform to raise respect and resources for the doctors fighting corona in African regions.
COVAID Africa offers a platform to both up-and-coming artists as well as more established names and connects them to a global audience. At the same time, the campaign aims to raise awareness for the creative industry, which has been under considerable pressure, given the cancellation of concerts and performances worldwide.
"We are confident that our high-quality live-streamed concerts will raise enough funds to make a difference and give artists a platform to share their talents with a global audience”, says Niklas.
