"Having always been interested in politics and economics, I struggled with finding a programme that fulfilled both those interests. So, naturally, I was immediately intrigued when I found out about PPLE. Its unique combination of these four interesting disciplines sounded like a perfect fit for me.

The admissions process intimidated me a bit at first, as universities do not require such a rigorous procedure in my home country of Germany. However, I quickly learned what was expected of me and I believe the process prepared me for what would be expected of me in this course.

When I arrived in Amsterdam for my studies, it was my first time in the Netherlands and my first time living abroad. Thanks to PPLE’s community-oriented approach and the events of its study association AIM, I was immediately able to find both International and Dutch friends, however. After over a year of living here, I am proud to call this place my home.

The programme itself also fulfilled my expectations, as it's just as interesting as I hoped, while also providing lots of practical skills. The best thing for me is that it allows students to focus on the topics that interest them the most. For example, I chose the politics major, but to also satisfy my interest in economics, I am able to take electives in that field and focus on economics in many of the papers we have to write, including the final thesis."
